  2.   This archive contains an update to the AmiTCP 2.2 binary. You need
  3. to successfully install full AmiTCP/IP release 2.2 <AmiTCP-bin-22.lha>
  4. before using this update. (Some of the documentation archives
  5. <AmiTCP-xxx-20.lha is also highly recommended.)

  7.   GNU GPL still applies to this archive (However, NcFTP's normal
  8. conditions apply to the new version); sources can be got by asking us,
  9. althrough none of us is probably reachable before January 1994.  See
  10. the file COPYING for the full conditions.

  12. (New info: I (Tomi) will be available quite soon after christmas to
  13. answer some queries/problems)

  15.   The reason for this limited update release (wrt full release) was
  16. simply lack of time. We thought that many of you might have some spare
  17. time around the new year, so we decided to put this out as fast as
  18. possible. A full release will be out next year :-)

  20.   Sorry no nice installation script this time :-(. Install this
  21. archieve by replacing the old files on the AmiTCP: tree with the new
  22. ones in this archive (you should probably move the old binaries to
  23. some safe place first). New files are:

  25.     AmiTCP        (version 2.3)
  26.     ChangeLog    notes for the latest changes
  27.     README.UPDATE    this file :-)
  28.     NcFTP_diffs.txt source diffs from NcFTP version 1.01 to 1.02
  29.     bin/NcFTP    (version 1.02)
  30.     bin/stopnet    sends "KILL" to AmiTCP's ARexx port
  31.     l/inet-handler    (version 1.65)

  33. Note that you probably must set the "s" bit for the bin/stopnet after
  34. installation ("protect AmiTCP:bin/stopnet +s").

  36.   AmiTCP itself contains some bugfixes and a new ARexx command:
  37. "KILL". See ChangeLog for details. Especially owners of the a2060 are
  38. invited to experiment this new version!

  40.   bin/NcFTP has improved file transfer capabilities, downloads do not
  41. keep the drive busy all the time any more.
  42.  
  43.   l/inet-handler now closes its open bsdsocket.library base immediately when 
  44. a break (CTRL-C) is received.
